Abstract:EPANET provides an integrated computer environment for editing network input data, running hydraulic and water quality simulations, and viewing the results in a variety of formats. These include color-coded network maps, data tables, time series graphs, and contour plots. The current EPANET application simulates several scenarios of hydraulics and water quality. However, in order to make a complete analysis of the water behavior within pressurized pipe network, lots of scenarios have to be simulated with different (a) pipe networks (consisting of pipes, nodes, pumps, and valves), (b) reservoirs (with different number, sizes, and positioning), (c) chemical species, (d) water characteristics (age, source, and tracing). That is why porting the application to a computational grid, seeking for more computational resources, is desirable, and could provide very useful data in a much shorter timeframe.
This applications is still UNDER DEVELOPMENT.
This application is supported by DEGISCO.
