Name:GATE
Description:GATE is a an open-source software developed by the OpenGate collaboration for nuclear medicine simulations, especially for TEP and SPECT imaging. Based on the Monte-Carlo toolkit Geant4 , GATE is a collaborative development gathering researchers from several international institutions and used by hundreds of persons worldwide. Among radiation therapy simulation methods, Monte-Carlo approaches like GATE are known to be the most accurate but are heavy to use due to the intensive computing they require. The GATE simulator has therefore been ported on the EGEE Grid for computational speed-up.
