Abstract:GPNsim is a discrete event simulator running on a Grid infrastructure based on g-Lite middleware. GPNsim computes performance metrics based on a Non Markovian Stochastic Petri Nets (NMSPN) models generated by GridSPN.and it is completely integrated on the software suite.<br>
Actually, its development is in progress. The kernel of GPNsim is developed and tested, and it is able to evaluate the basic performance metrics computable on Petri Nets, by performing a transient analisys. Computation of confidence interval based on a required tollerance level is implemented.<br>
The input to the simulator is an XML file with the description of the net and text file with the required measures.<br>
The actual development phase is to integrate the simulator into the g-Lite environment with the purpose to perform parallel execution of the simulation runs. A jdl schema to submit the job to the Grid will be developed; moreover an appropriate communication among the processes will be built in order to collect all the data into a master process and appropriately evaluate the required metrics.
