Description:Study of a Heat Exchange for hydrogen recovery from gas carrier from epitasis reactors
Abstract:The present application aims at studying a condenser heat exchange for hydrogen recovery from gas carrier exiting epitassy reactors.
Fluid-dynamics simulations have been carried out in order to evaluate both the temperature and the velocity fields within the tube-and-shell heat exchange. The fluid-dynamics study is finalised to verify the design choices.
The fluidynamics simulations have been run using the Fluent code in GRID environment. The code has been originally reviewed as concerns its capability in managing a particular fluid mixture (with hydrogen, HCl, chlorosilanes, etc.) in order to properly tune the numerical predictions. Actually, several CFD-related industrial cases deal with fluids (usually gases mixtures) that are ’’unconventional’’.
The present work is carried out within the collaboration between the University of Catania and Meridionale Impianti S.p.A..
