Name:MST JJ
Description:Mean Switching Time Josephson Junction
Abstract:A Josephson junction (JJ) is a quantum-mechanical component of an electronic circuit, operating at low temperatures. Josephson junctions are used in certain specialized instruments such as highly-sensitive microwave detectors, magnetometers, SQUID; they constitute the basis logical elements for the realization of the quantum computer. The aim of our research is the investigation of the transient dynamics of JJ under the influence of thermal correlated fluctuations.

We implemented a sequential Fortran code, running parametric jobs on grid.

We performed numerical simulation of the dynamics of the system through the resolution of an ordinary differential equation integrated using the Euler algorithm.

We calculated the Mean Switching Time of the junction, corresponding to the transition from the superconductive to the resistive state.

Software requirements: Fortran 77 compiler^
