Name:ReGrAp
Description:Reuse Techniques for Grid Applications
Abstract:Experiment:The experiment aims at raising the level of quality in the documentation, development and management of multi agent systems to allocate on the grid.

The reuse of portion of design and programming code is possible by the use of specific design patterns that describe optimal solutions to recurring problems occurring in the development of applications for the grid.

The agent paradigm, in this experiment, plays a fundamental role, since agent encapsulates an autonomous entity able to operate in its environment, and to collaborate with other agents.

Differently from traditional design patterns from literature, patterns for agent can be classified in social, architectural, behavioral depending the specific solution they propose.

Application description: In this application each pattern encapsulates a slice of design and/or programming code to use in order to generate a fast prototype of the system-to-be for the grid.

A language for describing, composing and instantiating patterns is proposed as means for integrating these solutions into the specific application under development.

The identification of design patterns, in particular social patterns (patterns for solving coordination and interaction problems) is an activity that involves the analysis of typical problems occurring during the development of systems for the grid. In particular the analysis is focused on applications these categories:

- e-market, that comprises the buying and selling, marketing, and supplying of products or services by the network.

- business process management, that is the whole of activities required to define, optimize, monitor and integrate companies processes. The aim is to raise the quality of company business.

- manufacturing system, a production system that is able to automatically handle different kinds of products.

- supply-chain management, the whole of activities tooptimize the level of supplies and enhance the efficiency in company production
